Renzo Nqekeza

My art reflects my Sotho heritage and the spiritual journey that has shaped my life. Raised as a shepherd in the rural landscapes of Lesotho, I draw from the stories, traditions, and natural surroundings of my upbringing.

Working with charcoal, acrylic, and mixed media, I create unframed, raw compositions that explore themes of identity, resilience, and faith. For me, art is not just a talent but a divine calling, a way to express personal experiences while honouring the broader cultural narratives that define my community. Through my work, I seek to engage viewers with both the past and present, inviting them to reflect on their own journeys and reconnect with their roots. Each piece is an exploration of survival, perseverance, and the transformative power of faith, offering a bridge between tradition and modernity. My art is a space for healing and contemplation, capturing the essence of what it means to endure and thrive.
