NARESH Kuverjee, Hemisha Makan, Payal Desai, Dr. Arno Strydom, and Rohit Desai will soon take on the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro.
All five of them are from the Southern Suburbs Hindu Cultural Society (SSHCS) and will embark on this exhilarating journey in September to raise at least R1-million for the medically underprivileged.
As a part of its campaign, the SSHCS has teamed up with the Smile Foundation to assist children with cleft palate, burn wounds and other facial deformations.
In addition, SSHCS has also teamed up with VISION 2020 to assist people who require cataract operations.
It is also their intention to assist the physically challenged with wheelchairs, prosthetics and more.
The team will be following the seven-day Machame route, departing on September 20 and returning on September 28.
