The unprecedented COVID-19 virus has locked us down but not out!
On 5th April at 9am, Rami Sassen, a veteran triathlete, will be taking on a half ironman distance at his home… consisting of a
– 1.9km swim in a plunge pool tied to a rope
– 90km ride on an indoor trainer
– 21.1km run on a treadmill
Rami is not only doing this for the mental and physical challenge, he will also be raising funds for the Smile Foundation, which is continuing to work towards supporting the departments and medical staff within the Academic Hospitals nationally.
Your donation to the Smile Foundation in support of Rami’s challenge, will assist the medical professionals working tirelessly on the frontlines to combat the spread of Covid-19 in SA, as the Smile Foundation has a close relationship with the National Department of Health, local departments of Health and the Academic Hospitals, who require assistance for funds for theatre scrubs, masks, gloves, hand sanitisers and medical equipment.
You can join him too! Do it yourself or get a team together and enter a relay. This is not to compete with each other, it’s to compete as a team to fight COVID-19.
We encourage every entrant to make a donation to Smile Foundation (we recommend R1000 or whatever you can afford).
Email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name/surname or teams name and participants and house party names.
Rami is appealing to corporates and generous individuals to get behind this great initiative.
